The Gladio SC is single-channel pedal, crafted to replicate the sound of its larger counterpart, the original Gladio, but in a more compact form.
In contrast to the double-channel Gladio, which drew inspiration from musicians like Robben Ford and Sonny Landreth, the Gladio SC aims to more closely emulate the sound associated with Stevie Ray Vaughan, reminiscent of the tones produced by a Dumble amplifier.
This pedal mirrors the first channel of the standard Gladio in terms of sound and controls, with the notable addition of a new clean knob. This feature significantly alters the pedal's capabilities, bringing it closer to SRV's iconic sound. The clean signal is captured right at the pedal's input and is then blended with the overdriven signal at the output. The CLEAN knob controls the volume of this clean signal, effectively layering a clean tone over the overdrive, which is instrumental in achieving the classic Texas-blues sound.
